The SLOUCHY BERET
This is the "hippest" hat of the season.  They're everywhere on every celebrity.  Learn to make this hat for yourself or for a gift using the "Trinity Stitch" on a bulky weight yarn.  Our sample is made out of 1 skein of Araucania Nature Wool Chunky using a 16" sz. 7 circular and a 16" & DP size 10 needles.

MULTIPLE CHOICE TOP/VEST
Is it a V-neck or round neck?  Is it a top or a vest?  No decision need be made with this unique garment.  One side is round neck and one is V-neck with buttons down the front & back.  The armholes are knit high enough you wouldn't have to wear anything under it.  It's worked with a slip stitch pattern over rows of garter stitch.  You can see our sample made of Noro Cashmere Island at the store.  You'll need size 7 needles (straight or circ.)
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Class Dates: Tue. Oct. 14, 28 and Nov. 11
             6:00pm-8:00pm          Cost: $38
Instructor:   Mary Schipper

LACE MOEBIUS SCARF
Challenge yourself with this not only beautiful but very functional lace creation.  When placed around the neck, it crosses itself in front and stays in place as a shawl.  If looped again around the neck it becomes a snug neck scarf or you can pull the edge up over your head like a hood.  You can choose from many different lace weight yarns available and you'll need a size 7 -  36" to 40" circular needle.

Skill Level: Advanced
Class Dates: Thurs. Oct. 16 and Nov. 6
                   6:00pm-8:00pm                Cost: $28
Instructor:   Carolyn Vance

TWO-COLOR TWISTED HAT
Always wanted to learn to knit with two colors, but couldn’t figure out how to manage them? Learn the Scandinavian technique of Twisted (or Twined) Knitting while making this hat from the top down. It’s guaranteed to fit because the hat is your gauge swatch! This technique is great for making a variety of geometric patterns as well. You will need 50 grams each of two colors in a DK or worsted weight yarn, a set of DPN’s and a 16” circular needle in size 3 (or so), and stitch markers.

Skill Level: Intermediate knitter
Class Dates: Sat. Oct. 18 and 25
                   10:30am-12:30pm                     Cost: $28
Instructor: Carolyn Vance

CHRISTMAS STOCKING
Start a wonderful new tradition or continue an old one by making a hand knit stocking to hang on the mantel this Christmas.  You will learn how to turn a heel as in a regular sock and use circular & double-pointed needles for the rest of the stocking.  Our sample is made from Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted on size 7 needles.  Make it striped or solid - it's up to you and embellished or not.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Class Dates: Wed. Oct. 22- 29 and Nov. 5
                   6:00pm-8:00pm                     Cost: $38
Instructor: Jane Leverenz

ENTRELAC KNITTING WORKSHOP
Entralac is an interwoven design that looks complicated until you do it. If you can knit and purl, knit stitches together and pick up stitches, you can easily do entrelac.  If you choose to learn to “knit backwards” it will go fast. There are many patterns to choose from when using this technique. Students need to know the basics of knitting before taking this class. You will need either self-striping worsted wt. yarn or two solid colors and size 7 or 8 straight needles.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Class Dates: Thurs. Oct. 23
                   6:00pm-8:00pm                    Cost: $18
Instructor: Jane Leverenz

HALF & HALF CAP-SLEEVE VEST
Two miters in two squares merge at the center back of this shorty button-down vest.  It's knit on a light-weight bulky yarn (our sample is made with Katia Azteca) with size 10 1/2 circular needles in 24" & 36/40" lengths.  This is a great project for an adventurous knitter because it's knit starting at the cap sleeve and then developing into the squared off front and back.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

    Mon Oct. 27 & Nov. 3    6:00pm-8:00pm             Cost: $38

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

CONTINENTAL BEGINNER KNITTING
Learn to knit faster (easier on the hands/wrists).  Continental knitting (sometimes called "picking") is where the yarn is held in the left hand and "picked" with the working needle.  By holding the yarn in the left hand, you avoid dropping the needle to loop the yarn leading to a faster - more even work.  This way of knitting can also be easier for a left-handed person or a crocheter to pick up.

Skill Level: Beginner - Ages 12 and up
Class Dates: Sun. Nov. 2 and Tues. Nov. 4
                     6:00pm-8:00pm                      Cost: $28

This is one of the most fun baby sweaters you will ever knit.  Easy and so cute you'll want to make them for all the babies in your life.  This original Elizabeth Zimmerman sweater requires minimal finishing (shoulder seams only).  This entire sweater is knit in garter stitch.  Jane will walk you through the pattern with helpful hints for creating that perfect baby sweater.  See our samples on display for two very different looks in this one pattern.
